ATM-related fatal accidents with long-distance aircraft have not occurred in Russia since 1996. Safety is the highest priority of the State ATM Corporation. The primary objective of the Enterprise is to ensure compliance with national ATM safety requirements with all the employees committed to this goal. To provide safety of its operations, the Enterprise has implemented the ATM Safety Management System. It ensures systems approach to safety indicators, identification and elimination of hazards before they result in incidents and accidents, commitment of the Enterprise to continuous safety improvement in the future. The State ATM Corporation has developed, implemented and certified the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001:2008 requirements. QMS is a tool of a continual improvement of the State ATM Corporation activity aimed at a full compliance with demands, expectations and requirements of users’ of Russian airspace and other stakeholders. The enhancement of delivering high quality air navigation service is based on continual development of all business and operational processes. Obtaining in 2007 and following verifications of the certificate indicated successful progress of the State ATM Corporation in meeting the established Strategic objectives.
