Director General State ATM Corporation Awarded “Honour of Russia”

On 28 March 2007 “Honour of Russia” Award Ceremony was held at the Reception Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.

Oleg N. Alekseev, Director General “State Air Traffic Management Corporation of the Russian Federation”, who was among the honorees, was awarded with this medal for his considerable contribution to safety and regularity of flights of civil aviation, establishment of the Uniform Air Traffic Management System, charity and love of his native country.

This Award established by the Charity Fund to support the policy of the President and the Government of the Russian Federation in promoting a competitive market economy is presented in recognition of an individual’s achievements in the field of state, military and public as well as religious, scientific, cultural and sport activities. 

This is also to recognize outstanding accomplishments of enterprises and organizations which contributed to industrial and scientific-research development, social, cultural, public and charity activities and working for the welfare of the country, its multinational unity, prosperity, greatness and glory. 

Famous politicians, military, directors of enterprises, publishing houses and media were awarded, to name a few, Sergey B. Ivanov, Chairman of the Security Council, Georgy S. Poltavchenko, Presidential envoy to Central Federal District, Valentin I. Varennikov, General of the Army who is the Hero of the Soviet Union, Sergey P. Korolev, Chief Designer of the USSR rocket and missile engineering (posthumously) etc.

All nominees who were previously awarded with state medals noted that this reward paid homage to their services to the State.

In his speech Mr. Alekseev emphasized that the award was an acknowledgement of activities carried out by 25000 employees of the State ATM Corporation and he also assured that future efforts would be turned to enhancement of the Air Navigation System of Russia.
