Eurasia Coordination Council Completed Its Work
The 35th meeting of the Eurasia Coordination Council, which includes the CIS Air Navigation Service Providers, completed its work in Baku (Azerbaijan). The meeting was attended by almost 100 delegates from 15 countries, including ANSP Directors General from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, representatives of international organizations, namely ICAO, IAC and IATA. The meeting was opened by the Chairman of the Eurasia Coordination Council – Igor Moiseenko, Director General of State ATM Corporation; AZAL President Jahangir Asgarov and Director of Azeraeronavigation Air Traffic Control Center Farkhan Guliyev made welcome speeches.
The meeting was presented with updates from the Eurasia Coordination Council members on the air navigation systems recent developments and future plans. Special attention was paid to operations of unmanned aircraft and their impact on flight safety, prospects for FRA implementation in the region of Eurasia, ASM modernization and national strategies. The participants of the meeting noted the significance of air navigation provision harmonization and long-term collaborative planning between countries with due regard to air traffic demand. Furthermore, JSC Concern VKO "Almaz-Antey", INDRA and other industrial enterprises presented their products. The international journal of air navigation, Air Traffic Control, was also presented during the Coordination Council meeting.
Established in 1999, the Eurasia Coordination Council comprises FSUE “State ATM Corporation”, RSE "Kazaeronavigation" (Kazakhstan), "Azeraeronavigation" (Azerbaijan), SE "Belaeronavigation" (Belarus), CJSC “ARMATS” (Armenia), SE "Kyrgyzaeronavigation" (Kyrgyzstan), SUE “Tajikaeronavigation” (Tajikistan) and “Uzaeronavigation” Center (Uzbekistan).
The next Coordination Council meeting will be held in 2019 in Tajikistan.
