Eurasia Coordination Group of Experts Meeting Held in Moscow

The Eurasia Coordination Group of Experts meeting took place in Moscow at State ATM Corporation Head Office on 6 – 7 September 2018.

The Eurasia Coordination Group of Experts meeting took place in Moscow at State ATM Corporation Head Office on 6 – 7 September 2018. The meeting was attended by representatives of national air navigation service providers of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russian Federation, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

The meeting was opened by State ATM Corporation Deputy Director General Yuri Tokarev. In his welcome speech, he highlighted the importance of working together on a wide range of issues of mutual interest, and the necessity of strengthening and expanding cooperation in the field of air navigation. Yuri Tokarev also wished the national ANSP representatives productive and successful work, effective interaction between the eight countries’ air navigation service providers, and the enhancement of cooperation.

One of the central topics of the meeting was the handling of unmanned aircraft system (UAS) operations and recent developments in that regard in the states concerned. The experts reviewed the results of the international ATCO contest among Eurasia Coordination Council member companies; analysed a number of Eurasia Coordination Council founding documents in terms of their relevance; and discussed the development of common training standards with experts from the Air Navigation Institute.

The work carried out by the Eurasia Group of Experts precedes the main event: the Eurasia Coordination Council meeting of ANSP representatives, which will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, on 10 – 11 October.
