FSUE “State ATM Corporation” announces results of professional contest for ATCOs

FSUE “State ATM Corporation” held the final of the professional contest for air traffic controllers on 12 – 16 December 2016 at Saint Petersburg State University of Civil Aviation.

FSUE “State ATM Corporation” held the final of the professional contest for air traffic controllers on 12 – 16 December 2016 at Saint Petersburg State University of Civil Aviation. 32 competitors from 16 branches of State ATM Corporation took part in the final. The judging panel chaired by Sergey Pogrebnov, FSUE “State ATM Corporation” Deputy Director General, decided on the winner, runners-up and other honorees of the contest.

Vladimir Kuzmenko, ATCO, Ural Air Navigation branch, became the winner of the professional contest for air traffic controllers held by FSUE “State ATM Corporation”.

The runners-up were Yevgenia Yushkova, ATCO, North-West Air Navigation branch, who won the second prize, and Artyom Ulkin, ATCO, Moscow ATC Center, who was awarded the third place.

Honorary diplomas and cash prize certificates were presented to the winner and the runners-up by Igor Moiseenko, FSUE “State ATM Corporation” Director General.

The following employees received honorary awards:

• Theoretical Knowledge category: Ilsiya Galimkhanova, ATCO, Tatarstan Air Navigation branch;

• Practical ATC Simulator Operation category:  Arsen Kurginyan, ATCO, Crimea Air Navigation branch;

• Homework category:  Ivan Byzov, ATCO, Ural Air Navigation;

• Civil Aviation History category: Mikhail Stionov, ATCO, Central Volga Air Navigation.

In addition, this year MLS International College initiated a new awards category for outstanding English language skills, which was won by Andrey Dolgopolov, ATCO, North Siberia Air Navigation branch. Vladimir Datiashvili, Deputy Chairman of the judging panel, presented the award to the winner.

The above employees received their respective diplomas from Sergey Pogrebnov, Chairman of the judging panel; Andrey Kudryavtsev, Deputy Director, North-West Air Navigation branch; Yuri Mikhalchevsky,Vice-principal for Professional Training and International Relations, Saint Petersburg State University of Civil Aviation; and Roman Mamedov, Director, Non-commercial Supplementary Professional Training Institution “Air Navigation Institute”. The prize-winners also received diplomas and gifts from LLC NITA and JSC Azimut.
