ICAO EUR (EAST) VOLCEX/SG/9 held in Kamchatka

On 8-10 August, the EUR (EAST) VOLCEX/SG/9 regular international meeting was held at the Kamchatka Air Navigation branch of FSUE “State ATM Corporation”.

This year the core attendees representing the State ATM Corporation and its branches, ICAO, FATA, Japan Meteorological Agency, Japan Civil Aviation Bureau, Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of the Russian Academy of Sciences Far Eastern Branch, Elizovo meteorological centre, were joined by a representative of the FAA.

The meeting discussed issues concerning the interaction of ATS personnel of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Regional Centre of the Joint ATM System with volcanic activity advisory centres, adjacent ATC centres and airspace users, and established a schedule for further exercises. All participants of the meeting were taken on an excursion to the museum of the RAS FEB Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.
