IFATCA delegation Visits Moscow ATC Centre
The delegation of the International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers' Associations (IFATCA) has visited the State ATM Corporation’s Moscow Air Traffic Control Centre. The event took place as part of the IFATCA Executive Board Meeting.
For the second time Russia has hosted the Board Meeting of the Federation comprising over 50,000 air traffic controllers from 125 countries, the first time being in 2003. The meeting, chaired by IFATCA President Patrik Peters, discussed the improvement of air navigation services quality, the enhancement of flight safety, and the development of safe, effective and regular air traffic.
As part of the visit to the Moscow ATC centre the foreign experts were shown the area and terminal control centres, as well as the new control centre, which is expected to be operational in October. The guests learnt about the activities of the State ATM Corporation Moscow branch, its current projects and further development plans.
It is worth mentioning that the IFATCA representatives warmly thanked the Russian side for the comprehensive help with making arrangements for the Board meeting in Moscow and the support provided during the visit to the Moscow ATC Centre.
