Kamchatka Air Navigation Branch Holds Meeting on Automated ATM System Operation

On 7 – 8 June the State ATM Corporation’s Kamchatka Air Navigation branch hosted a meeting as a follow-up on the first year of the automated air traffic management system operation at Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky ATS centre. The meeting was chaired by Konstantin Kaplya, Director for CNS and Modernization. The meeting participants included Kamchatka Air Navigation Director Evgeny Novozhonov, delegates from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Kaliningrad and Irkutsk ATS centres, and manufacturers of the TOPAZ automated ATM system, “LEMZ” R&P Corp and Monitor-Soft.

The meeting determined the timeline and priorities for TOPAZ automated ATM system upgrades, and formulated recommendations on further improvement of the system’s operations. The meeting also discussed the TOPAZ system operating experience at Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky ACC (Kamchatka Air Navigation branch), highlighted the operating specifics of the automated ATM system at Kaliningrad ACC (North-West Air Navigation branch) and at Irkutsk consolidated ACC (Eastern Siberia Air Navigation branch).
