For the first time in 9 years, the team of the Moscow ATC Centre branch of the FSUE “State ATM Corporation” has won the honourable first place in Golden Flight Level, a winter sports competition among air traffic controllers. This year GFL took place in the Serbian town of Kopaonik on 21 – 28 January.

553 participants representing 39 teams from all over the world competed in three sports: cross-country, giant slalom and snowboarding. In a close competition that left the rival only 0.65 seconds behind, our team was able to clinch the victory from the Swiss team. Athletes from Spain came third.

We would like to express our special congratulations to our prize-winners: Igor Morozov, who won first place in giant slalom, Vitaly Radko, who came second in snowboarding, and Nikolay Saranov, our colleague from Kamchatka Air Navigation, who came first in triathlon and third in snowboarding. In cross-country skiing, Russian athletes became absolute champions and claimed the whole podium: 1st – Dmitry Butskov, 2nd – Nikolay Saranov, 3rd – Sergey Gusarov.

Next year GFL will take place in Sweden, and the Moscow ATC Centre team is determined to reaffirm its leading position.

Congratulations to our conquerors of snowy peaks on this long-awaited trophy! Now it is time to start preparing for the GFL-2019 competition, which we will be hosting in Sochi.
