New Automated TOPAZ ATM System Put into Operation by Kamchatka Air Navigation

12 May 2016, 3:30 (UTC) - Air traffic services at Kamchatka Air Navigation branch, FSUE “State ATM Corporation” are now provided with the use of a state-of-the-art automated TOPAZ ATM system after an authorization for commissioning of a new control tower at Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Airport was granted by the Federal Air Transport Agency.
12 May 2016, 3:30 (UTC) - Air traffic services at Kamchatka Air Navigation branch, FSUE “State ATM Corporation” are now provided with the use of a state-of-the-art automated TOPAZ ATM system after an authorization for commissioning of a new control tower at Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Airport was granted by the Federal Air Transport Agency.

In April 2016, the installation and commissioning of the automated Russian-made ATM system were completed. The new tower building is equipped with advanced air navigation and CNS facilities and necessary conditions were created to ensure comfortable and efficient working environment. The tower view provides a more efficient control of the airside. Furthermore, the new tower building is also fit with a sophisticated flight control system of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Putting into operation the new control tower will further enhance safety in the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky ACC area of responsibility.
Aircraft Yak-40 operating a domestic flight from Palana to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky was the first aircraft controlled by the new tower that landed at Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky airport.
