Representatives of Finavia visited State ATM Corporation

In the period 7 – 9 December 2015, representatives of Finnish ANS provider visited Moscow, the State ATM Corporation.

On 8 December, State ATM Corporation’s Head Office held a meeting with the participation of Igor Moiseenko, Director General of the State ATM Corporation and Kari Savolainen, CEO of Finavia Corporation.

Igor Moiseenko provided information on changes of air traffic volumes in Russian airspace, elaborated on the implementation of the Joint ATM System Programme Modernization and informed Finnish colleagues on Corporation’s development plans for the next few years.

During the meeting representatives of Finnish ANS provider reported on the progress achieved by Finavia over the last years in airspace planning and management.
Furthermore, Finnish delegation expressed vital interest in Moscow and St.-Petersburg new ACC airspace structures and UAS flight operation procedures.

After meeting in the State ATM Corporation’s Head Office the Russian – Finnish delegation moved to Moscow ATC Centre, where they continued discussing other professional issues. The guests got acquainted with the functioning of the Centre and its structural divisions. Finnish delegation visited OPS rooms, Simulation Centre and new Flight Control Centre.

On 9 December, Pasi Nikama, ANS Vice-President of Finavia, made a presentation for the State ATM Corporation’s Head Office skill pool and reported on the results of Finavia’s activity, described opportunities for the development of Helsinki as a major hub in Northern Europe as well as company’s strategy aimed at adopting advanced ATC technologies. In concluding the meeting Mr. Nikama responded to questions from the audience.
