Representatives of Foreign Airlines Visit State ATM Corporation
A working meeting between the leadership of FSUE “State ATM Corporation” and representatives of foreign airlines was held on 24 July in Moscow. The meeting was attended by IATA Assistant Director for ATM Infrastructure Dmitry Kosolapov and representatives of airlines such as Air France, Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines, Cathay Pacific Airways and Air Canada. The Russian side was represented by State ATM Corporation Deputy Directors General Nikita Danilov and Evgeny Melnikov.
The purpose of the meeting was to inform foreign airlines of the Corporation’s efforts undertaken for the benefit of airspace users. The participants were updated on the outcomes of area control centre consolidation and the implementation of federal target programmes by the Corporation. Detailed information on actions implemented as part of preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup was presented. In addition, the Russian side touched upon the ongoing work on the Russian Air Navigation System Development Strategy up to 2030 and delivered a presentation on an air navigation charges payment tool for airlines.
On 25 July, the airline representatives visited State ATM Corporation Moscow ATC Centre branch, where they were demonstrated the functioning of the new Flight Control Centre and ongoing work to prepare for the transition to a new Moscow airspace structure. In conclusion, the parties emphasised the importance of holding regular consultations to enable an active exchange of opinions on a wide range of issues, thus raising the efficiency of interaction.
