State Air Traffic Management Corporation Visits Beijing

On 6-11 November 2006 a delegation of the State ATM Corporation headed by Director General Oleg N. Alekseev visited Beijing, where it took part in the Russian National Exhibition organized within the framework of the Year of Russia in China, and held meetings with the Air Traffic Management Bureau of the Civil Aviation Authority of China (CAAC) as well as with representatives of Chinese airlines.

On 6-11 November 2006 a delegation of the State ATM Corporation headed by Director General Oleg N. Alekseev visited Beijing, where it took part in the Russian National Exhibition organized within the framework of the Year of Russia in China, and held meetings with the Air Traffic Management Bureau of the Civil Aviation Authority of China (CAAC) as well as with representatives of Chinese airlines.

A stand dedicated to the Air Navigation System of the Russian Federation with visual and electronic presentation of the activities and plans of the Federal Air Navigation Authority and the State ATM Corporation was organized at the Exhibition. Special emphasis was placed on current and planned efforts aimed at servicing the growing air traffic to/from China through Russian airspace.

On 9 November a meeting was organized with the ATMB of the CAAC. Issues of mutual interest were discussed, including preparations for the forthcoming visit of a high-level multi-agency PRC delegation to Moscow in December 2006 for consultations with the Federal Air Navigation Authority and the State ATM Corporation. During the meeting, ATMB officials emphasized their interest in establishing close relations in the area of air navigation on various levels with relevant Russian regulatory bodies and structures. 

On 10 November a meeting was held with representatives of PRC airlines performing flights in and through Russian airspace. During the fruitful exchange of views Chinese partners were informed about the main elements of the Concept of establishment and development of the Air Navigation System of the Russian Federation, as well as about plans for air routes improvement in Russian airspace, RVSM implementation and Russian proposals for additional new entry/exit points on air boundary between Russia and China.
