State ATM Corporation Participates in International Aerospace Show MAKS-2017
On 18 July 2017, the MAKS-2017 International Aerospace Show opened in Zhukovsky, Moscow region. FSUE “State ATM Corporation” takes part in a joint exhibition booth of the agencies, which are within jurisdiction of the Federal Air Transport Agency. In chalet 2F1-2F2 you can watch a video presentation prepared by the State “ATM Corporation” about the work of air traffic controllers, engineers and pilots, who provide for the functioning of Russian air navigation system.
Piaggio 180 Avanti II, the only aircraft in Russia, is exhibited on MAKS-2017 static parking stand. This aircraft is owned by Aerocontrol branch, its base is Ramenskoe airfield. Piaggio Avanti is designed to carry out special missions and in future will be equipped with an up-to-date Russian-made complex to perform flight inspections of CNS facilities, air navigation and aerodrome lighting systems. The project is now being finalized. The aircraft has arrived at MAKS-2017 directly from Piaggio Aero plant in Genoa. An excursion onboard Piaggio Avanti will be arranged for pre-registered students of aviation institutes on a traditional Students’ Day. Moreover, the most active users of social networks will also have a chance to see the aircraft inside.
As part of the MAKS 2017 business programme, State ATM Corporation in partnership with Strategy Partners Group (ZAO SPG) is holding the round table ‘Russian Air Navigation System Development Strategy’ on 19 July, where participants will be invited to discuss a wide range of issues: goals and objectives of strategy development, the role and significance of the air navigation system for the country, current challenges and solutions, intended outcome of the implementation of a long-term strategy until 2030. The meeting will be attended by representatives of the Russian Ministry of Transport, IATA, Aeroflot, UTair, etc. On 20 July, State ATM Corporation Director General Igor Moiseenko will present his report at the Conference ‘Enhancing air transport efficiency management through the use of trajectory-based operations’ arranged by JSC KRET. The Head of the State ATM Corporation is also participating in a meeting with the UN delegation, which is attending MAKS 2017 with an official visit.
It is also worth mentioning that air traffic controllers and other specialists of the State ATM Corporation Moscow ATC Centre branch are going to ensure conflict-free use of airspace around Ramenskoye aerodrome and within the whole Moscow TMA. The busy flight programme of MAKS 2017, just as during previous aviation forums, will have no impact on the operations of Vnukovo, Domodedovo and Sheremetyevo airports. Scheduled civil aircraft flights will be operated as and when planned. The safety of air operations within the Moscow ATC Centre area of responsibility will be ensured, as always, with the utmost scrupulousness. The air salon will also receive the closest attention of the Main Centre of the Russian Joint ATM System.
To recap, the air salon will be open until 23 July inclusive. 18 July will be reserved for official events, 19 and 20 July are intended to be business days, while starting from 21 July MAKS will be open for the public.
