State ATM Corporation prepares for FIFA Confederations Cup and FIFA World Cup

On 19 April 2017, the State ATM Corporation’s Head Office hosted a senior staff meeting representing Main ATM Centre as well as Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Rostov, Samara and Ekaterinburg zonal centres. The meeting reviewed issues related to ensuring safety during the 2018 FIFA World Cup and 2017 Confederations Cup.

The meeting was chaired by Sergey Martynenko, Deputy Head of Airspace Management Department (Federal Air Transport Agency), and Sergey Pogrebnov, Deputy Director General of the State ATM Corporation. Counterterrorism legislation of the Russian Federation, changes in airspace structure during preparation and conduction of FIFA sport events and review of Rostov zonal centre experience during the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Winter Paralympics in Sochi (2014) were among the issues discussed. The participants received explicit instructions regarding preparations for the events.
