Syrian Delegation Visits State ATM Corporation Branches

On 17-19 June 2019, a delegation from the Civil Aviation Administration of the Syrian Arab Republic Ministry of Transport visited State ATM Corporation’s Moscow ATC Centre and South Air Navigation branches.

On 17-19 June 2019, a delegation from the Civil Aviation Administration of the Syrian Arab Republic Ministry of Transport visited State ATM Corporation’s Moscow ATC Centre and South Air Navigation branches. The visit took place as part of the Roadmap for the Development of Trade and Industrial Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Syrian Arab Republic and involved specialists from Almaz-Antey Air and Space Defence Corporation.

During the meeting at Moscow ATC Centre branch, the foreign experts were presented with the functional capabilities of equipment in operation at the Flight Control Centre: Russian-manufactured Sintez-AR4 ATC automation system, controller working positions at Moscow zonal centre, ACC, and TMA (interface, ergonomics, sufficiency of information displayed). The delegation showed interest in airspace utilization planning stages, transfer of information between air traffic management centres as well as usage of AMAN to manage the flow of arriving aircraft.

Experts from Moscow ATC Centre also presented the current airspace structure and expected changes that will be introduced by the upcoming new structure compliant with modern requirements for the safety and regularity of air operations.

Our colleagues from Syria visited the Black Sea ATS centre, where they learnt about the working arrangements of the South Air Navigation branch, areas of responsibility and their borders, organizational structure, air traffic figures and coordination between ATS and CNS units. As part of the meeting, the foreign delegation visited CNS and ATM automation facilities, as well as Sochi aerodrome ATC facilities.

The Syrian experts greatly appreciated the work done by State ATM Corporation branches with regard to air traffic management and safety.
