The State ATM Corporation’s Team wins 4th International ATC Controllers Contest of Eurasia Coordination Council Member States
5 September 2015 was the final day of the 4th International ATC Controllers Contest of Eurasia Coordination Council Member States conducted in the city of Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan).
5 September 2015 was the final day of the 4th International ATC Controllers Contest of Eurasia Coordination Council Member States conducted in the city of Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan).Eight teams of ATC controllers from the State ATM Corporation (Russia), “Kyrgyzaeronavigatsia” (Kyrgyzstan), “Azeraeronavigatsia” (Azerbaijan), “Armaeronavigatsia” (Armenia), “Belaeronavigatsia” (Belarus), “Kazaeronavigatsia” (Kazakhstan), “Tadjikaeronavigatsia” (Tajikistan) and “Uzaeronavigatsia” (Uzbekistan) participated in the contest.
The contest consisted of five stages:
Stage 1– ATC simulator; Stage 2–scientific essay (“homework”); Stage 3– knowledge of ICAO documentation; Stage 4– civil aviation history; Stage 5 – the English language proficiency.
The judging panel awarded the highest marks to the team of the State ATM Corporation (Igor Malykhin, Vasili Tkalenko, Nailya Zakeryina) for the professional competence at the first stage of the contest. Igor Malykhin demonstrated excellent skills of a flight supervisor, Vasili Tkalenko provided approach control in an expert manner and Nailya Zakeryina mastered all the challenges of area control. Technical problems that arose during the simulator exercises did not shatter the morale of the Russian team. It demonstrated a high team spirit, excellent knowledge and corporate ethics of true professionals throughout the entire contest.
As the result, the team of the State ATM Corporation was named the 4th International ATC Controllers Contest Absolute Champion and it became the Champions Cup Winner for the second time.
The teams of “Kyrgyzaeronavigatsia” and “Belaeronavigatsia” won the second and third-place prizes accordingly.
Mr. Ulukbek Rakhmanov, Director General of “Kyrgyzaeronavigatsia”, in his closing speech praised the contestants for their performance and pointed out that all the participants demonstrated a high degree of professional ability.
