ATM personnel training is a purposefully organized, systematic process aimed at acquiring knowledge and skills related to air traffic management and air traffic services.

Personnel training is an ongoing process that can be divided into two main stages.

The first stage involves obtaining higher, secondary, or basic professional education depending on the requirements specified for a given category of aviation personnel.

The second stage typically encompasses the whole period of the specialists' professional career. At this stage, continuing professional education is provided to staff through various upgrade training courses, conversion training courses, recurrent training, and special training courses.

ATM-related training is provided by educational institutions of secondary and higher vocational level in accordance with national educational standards. The major educational institutions are:

Continuing professional education is provided by the Institute of Air Navigation, advanced training faculties of educational institutions of secondary and higher vocational level, educational institutions of continuing professional development appropriately certified/licensed for this type of activity.
