North-West Air Navigation, St. Petersburg
The North-West Air Navigation branch provides ATM services in the airspace of Leningrad, Pskov, Novgorod, Vologda, Murmansk and Kaliningrad regions, the Republic of Karelia, Arkhangelsk region, part of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region, and also above the areas of the Baltic, Barents, Kara seas and the Arctic ocean.
The coverage area is 3 mln km². The length of air route segments is 23,397 km; 15,168 km of them are international. The area of responsibility of the branch includes 9 airports, 4 of them being international. The branch cooperates with 10 foreign ATM centres (FIRs): Anchorage (USA), Reykjavik (Iceland), Bodø (Norway), Tampere (Finland), Malmö (Sweden), Warsaw (Poland), Tallinn (Estonia), Riga (Latvia), Vilnius (Lithuania), Minsk (Belarus). The branch operates all the key transit air flows from European and American states to East and Southeast Asia via the Russian airspace.
Nowadays the project for the establishment of North-West Consolidated ACC is under development.
