Chersky and Zyryansky ATS Centres switch to QNH
On 11 July, Chersky and Zyryansky Air Traffic Services Centers of North-Eastern Siberia branch made the transition to QNH and altitude measurements expressed in feet at Chersky and Zyryanka airfields pursuant to the Federal Rules of Airspace Utilization approved by Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 138 dated 03/11/2010.
The first QNH pressure flight with landing at Zyryanka airfield was operated by the crew of the Mi-8 aircraft, flight RKA9974 of Polar Airlines, and at Chersky airfield – by the crew of the Dash 8 Q300 aircraft, flight SYL401 of Yakutia Airlines.
It should be noted that earlier transition to QNH was carried out at Srednekolymsk, Teply Klyuch, Sakkyryr, Belaya Gora, Verkhneviluysk, Vilyuysk, Olenek, Sangar, Suntar, Ust-May airfields.
In addition, by the end of this year, transition to QNH is planned at Neryungri, Olekminsk, Chokurdy, Zhigansk, Saskylakh airfields located within the area of responsibility of North-Eastern Siberia branch.
Over the past period of 2024, QNH values were implemented at 16 airfields of the Russian Federation.
