State ATM Corporation speaks on digital services for drone owners at the “Archipelago 2024”
Representatives of the State ATM Corporation took part in the “Archipelago 2024” educational workshop and talked about digital services for owners and operators of unmanned aircraft.
Making his presentation at the “Digital services for UAV owners and operators” session, Deputy Director General – Head of Main ATM Center of the Russian Federation Alexey Buevich spoke of the Digital platform being developed within the framework of the Federal Project on Safety infrastructure and UAS certification system establishment.
State ATM Corporation is establishing a Digital platform and services to provide information support to the airspace users, facilitate flight planning and coordination of manned and unmanned aircraft flights, reduce administrative barriers and, as a result, ensure easier access to airspace.
The digital platform architecture will allow for centralized UAS record keeping, flight planning and coordination between airspace users and operational units at all stages of airspace utilization.
It should be noted that the single digital environment will ensure real time airspace and flight planning information exchange throughout the whole territory of the Russian Federation regardless of airspace users’ location.
The digital platform and services are implemented on the basis of three modules:
• Advanced System of flight plans submission over the Internet and telephone network;
• Electronic Aeronautical Information Publication of the Russian Federation (eAIP);
• The Joint Airspace Management System linked with a Centralized Integrated Database.
The general functionality and features of these modules involve the exchange of aeronautical, meteorological, planning, restricted and reference information to simplify access to the airspace of UAV and manned aircraft and their integration into the airspace.
The Federal Project provides for the phased implementation of digital services, the project completion is planned for 2027.
